This March, to mark International Women’s Day, Weird Women, a creative programme celebrating the strange, the eerie, and the uncanny, is back!

This year, you’ll find a range of writing workshops and an electronic music workshop, all led by inspiring female artists and writers. Whatever your level, these sessions provide a welcoming space for women to explore the weird and wonderful through creativity.

This Haunted House of Mine – Understanding Ourselves Through Horror with Alex Herod
Explore the therapeutic potential of horror writing in self-discovery and wellbeing, with prompts from horror films and books.
Forgotten Objects – Using Prompts to Craft Strange Fiction with Gaynor Jones
Work with uncanny and out-of-place objects to spark eerie, immersive storytelling.

Myth / Maiden / Muse – Writing Feminine Folklore with Sophie Parkes
Delve into the myths of fairies, witches, and folklore’s powerful female figures, using them as inspiration for new writing.
Oscillator Echo Chamber – DIY Experimental Electronic Music with Liei
Craft haunting, otherworldly soundscapes and experiment with eerie tones No tech skills or specialist equipment are required – just a laptop, headphones, and an open mind.

All Weird Women events are free to attend, but we encourage those who can to make a £10 donation to support our work and help us continue running events like this.
These sessions are open to all women. If you have any questions about accessibility or participation, please get in touch.
