This half term, Mini Spirits brings together a haunting collection of young people’s ghost stories at Levenshulme Old Library.
Created as part of our Ghosts at the Old Library programme, this exhibition showcases eerie tales written by children from two local schools, Alma Park and Chapel Street. The children explored the tradition of the Christmas ghost story, learning its techniques before crafting their own spine-tingling narratives.
Now, we’re inviting even more young storytellers to take part. Alongside the exhibition, we’re running a series of creative writing workshops where children will hear some unsettling stories and moving around to explore sound and place, before writing their own stories that can be added to the exhibition, making Mini Spirits an ever-growing collection of young imaginations at play.
Come read their eerie tales – if you dare! The exhibition is open to the public during the following hours:
- Wednesday 12th February – 3:00pm-5:00pm
- Thursday 13th February – 3:00pm-5:00pm
- Monday 17th February – 10:00am-2:00pm
- Tuesday 18th February – 11:45am-2:00pm
- Monday 24th February – 10:00am-2:00pm
No booking is required during these hours. Entry is free and all ages are welcome.
The workshops are aimed at children aged 8-12 and take place on the following dates:
- Tuesday 18th February, 10am-11:30am
- Friday 21st February, 10am-11:30am
- Friday 28th February, 12:30pm-2:00pm (homeschooled children)
