This weekend we’re hosting our very first Membership Meet-Up!
This is an opportunity for our community to come and learn more about our operations, hear about our plans for the future and get involved with what we do, all lubricated by brews and biscuits.
What is Levenshulme Old Library Membership?
Earlier this year we launched a new membership programme, one which aims to connect our community with our heritage, bring people closer to the work we do, and give residents more opportunities to work with Levenshulme Old Library to deliver the events and activities they want to see in their neighbourhood.
We think community arts should be fun, friendly and accessible. Being a Member means you can be involved as much or as little as you like.
Membership to Levenshulme Old Library is FREE – although we urge those who can afford to do so make a donation to help us continue our work. We are run by a tiny yet enthusiastic team and support from our community makes a huge difference. We recommend a minimum donation of £5 but anything at all is always very welcome.
This Month: Arts and Programming
The theme for this month’s meet-up is art and programming.
Our building was created to provide cultural enrichment to the local community and, although it’s no longer a library, that founding mission is something we remain committed to and the arts is at the heart of everything we do. We want to support local artists, arts organisations and residents to widen access to arts and culture in Levenshulme.
We’ll be discussing some of the projects we have lined up, some of our plans and hopes for the future and what success looks like to us. And we’re keen to hear what need there is within the community, what opportunities are out there, what people want to get involved with and what local people would like to get out of their Levenshulme Old Library membership.
