We’re very excited to announce the launch of our Levolution! exhibition.
- 12pm-3pm, Saturday 11th February
- Levenshulme Old Library, Cromwell Grove, Manchester M19 3QE
- Free entry and no booking required
Back in early 2013 it was announced that the library and swimming baths here in Levenshulme would be closed. This resulted in the community coming together for months of widespread protest in the form of marches, sit-ins at the library and pools, flash-mob zumba routines and other creative forms of activism.
Levolution! is an exhibition of images from those protests as well as some of the original items sourced from within the community. Together they tell the story of Levenshulme, but also the wider stories of community, solidarity, and life under the shadow of a decade of austerity.
Alongside the exhibition you’ll also find some free art workshops for both adults and kids, including badge-making, banner-making and more. Stay tuned for more details!
There’s no booking needed, entry is free and everyone is welcome.
