Bringing young communities together through drama.
Regular sessions at Levenshulme Old Library.
LLT believe that communal creativity inspires young people to express themselves positively and explore their individuality; building confident, robust characters with a healthy sense of play.
Gemma here! As you may well be sending your child to come and create drama with me, I thought it would be good for you to know a bit about me and my story behind setting up LEVY LITTLE THEATRE.
I moved to Levenshulme in 2014 and immediately loved the community spirit here. There is such a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds and our young community are very lucky to be growing up in such a rich environment.
It is my belief that, since our children are the future of our local communities, we should encourage them to connect in a non-school setting, so they can learn to create as a team – a micro-community, if you like – in which they can communicate positively and grow together through drama.
So, what better place to do that than in an old library, a centre of knowledge and imagination which was once the heart of its local area. Levenshulme Old Library is establishing itself as an arts, community and culture centre and I am so pleased that LEVY LITTLE THEATRE can be a part of that.
