The LOL Art Clubs

Welcome to LOL Art Club!

Levenshulme Old Library is proud to host four monthly art sessions for adults, all designed to inspire creativity, build community, and offer a welcoming space for everyone – whether you’re a total novice or an experienced artist.

The sessions are free to attend, but booking is required.

Collage Club

First Monday of Each Month

Run by local artist Janie Luchesse, Collage Club offers a playful space for cutting, pasting, and creating vibrant collages. Whether you’re new to the art form or an experienced hand, come along to experiment with textures, patterns, and imagery in a relaxed, inspiring environment.

Stitch Club

Second Monday of Each Month

Led by sustainability journalist and fabric enthusiast Sophie Benson, Stitch Club is open to anyone who enjoys working with fabrics or textiles. Bring along your ongoing sewing, knitting, or embroidery projects, or simply show up and get started on something new. Whether you’re stitching by hand or machine, the club is the perfect place to share skills and get creative with fabric.

Zine Club

Third Monday of Each Month

Explore the DIY world of zine-making at Zine Club with Let’s Make Zines. This is a masked session, so everyone is required to wear a mask (which can be provided). Learn how to put together your own mini-publication and share your thoughts, art, and stories in true zine tradition. Zine-making is an inclusive, accessible way to express yourself creatively, and everyone is welcome.

Writing Club

Fourth Monday of Each Month

Hosted by award-winning poet Kate Ireland (of Blether), Writing Club offers an open and supportive space for writers of all levels. Whether you’re working on poetry, short stories, or longer-form writing, come along to develop your craft and share your work in a welcoming community. Perfect for anyone looking to stretch their writing muscles and find inspiration among fellow creatives.

The sessions take place on Monday evenings in our Studio space. They are open to all and free to attend, although we do encourage donations to support the work we do with local artists.

For more info and upcoming session dates, check out our calendar.

The sessions are free to attend, but we ask those who are able to do so to make a donation to allow us to provide these sessions as well as other activities, events and opportunities in Levenshulme.
