Ghosts at the Old Library

Our annual night of ghost stories is back.

On Saturday 6 December, Levenshulme Old Library will once again dim the lights for Ghosts at the Old Library, our evening of ghost stories read by candlelight (well, camping lantern-light) in the Old Library.

In previous years the event has included commissions, recordings, school workshops, mentoring sessions and immersive, multi-room performances. This year we’re keeping things simple and going back to what makes events like these so special: writers, stories and a dark winter night.

Expect contemporary tales of haunting, unease and imagination, told in full by some of the North’s best contemporary writers. It’s an evening that mixes warmth and chill in equal measure – a reminder that ghost stories are made to be shared aloud. As it’s Christmas, you can also enjoy some festive refreshments from our pop-up bar.

Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to see which writers are joining us.

Tickets are pay what you want, with a recommended donation of £10, with all proceeds supporting Levenshulme Old Library – we’re an arts charity working with our community to make good stuff happen in our neighbourhood.

Join us for one night only, and help keep this Levenshulme tradition alive.
