For the third year running, we’re continuing our tradition of bringing you original tales inspired by Levenshulme and the dark, dank magic of the winter season.
Ghosts at the Old Library is back – and we’re thrilled to bring you a series of new tales of festive unease, dread and woe from some of the North West’s finest authors.
We’ve commissioned six writers to create brand new ghost stories for Christmas, using real-life settings in Levenshulme as their settings and inspiration, featuring specially commissioned stories from David Gaffney, Fia Harrington, Lucy Edmiston, Abi Hynes, Sophie Parkes and Reshma Ruia.
We’ve created a limited-edition box-set featuring each of these new stories, printed individually and beautifully designed with original artwork by Zoe McLean. These beautiful chapbooks make perfect Christmas gifts, or a special treat for yourself, and are available for order now.
The theme for this year’s stories is ‘households’ – each of the writers created their story after speaking with a local household, combining their storytelling with local memories, experiences and stories – so expect haunted houses, unsettling family echoes, and strange presences lurking in familiar spaces.
Featuring:
- The Woman in the Park by Lucy Edmiston
- Trespassers by David Gaffney
- The Lamb by Fia Harrington
- Instructions from the Other House by Abi Hynes
