Festive events at Levenshulme Old Library

As 2019 draws to a close, here are some of the highlights from the year, events during the festive period and plans for 2020.

Looking Back:

Levyfringe LogoAfter moving into the space in 2018 and working with the council and our tenants to secure the building, 2019 has seen our events programme develop, with the success of the second year of Levy Fringe, which ran from 4th – 14th July in venues across the town (and is scheduled again for 25th June – 4th July 2020), to our recent Creative Windrush events.

As well as and hosting regular sessions with Levenshulme WI, Levy Little Theatre, Greater Manchester Coalition of Disabled People(GMCDP) and a wide mix of rehearsals, dance, artists projects, filming, yoga, health and wellness events, training and community activities.

Looking Forward:

During 2020, we’re ambitious in our plans to make the space more varied and inclusive in its offer, continuing our successful events and activities and a multi-arts offer that serves the whole community.

Celebrate:

Levenshulme Community Christmas WindowsBefore that, we’d like to welcome you to celebrate the festive period with us by coming down at 6pm on 12th December for the unveiling of Levenshulme Christmas Advent Window #12  (visit the map or recent MEN article to check out other windows in the trail),

Or come along to our Family Festive Fun day, 1pm – 5pm on 21st December, with fun activities for kids (crafts, storytime, Father Christmas and a festive film) and lots of practical support for parents (wrapping station and pre-loved toys) –  to take the pressure off families at this busy time of year!

We’ll be sharing more updates in the New Year in our Newsletter, with news from Levenshulme Old Library, our partners and new trustees.

Until then, we wish you all a merry festive break!
